MEET MIKE ...

Telling and editing stories have been a part of Mike Stephenson's life since he was born in Evansville, Ind. As a second-generation newspaperman, Mike shaped stories in newsrooms professionally for nearly three decades, including 23 years at the Tampa Bay Times, the largest newspaper in the southeastern United States.

Mike also has more than 25 years of management and leadership experience with teams big and small, both onsite and remote.

In January 2017, Mike joined Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital as Editorial Manager, leading a team of writers, digital content specialists and multimedia specialists to showcase and tell stories of the organization's clinical and research expertise around children's health.

Living in Tampa with his wife, Jennifer Orsi, as their children Sarah (Tulane) and Zachary (University of South Florida) attend college, Mike often spends personal time unraveling age-old family stories, including distant relatives who traveled the Oregon Trail in the 1850s and the Stephensons who migrated to Nodaway County, Mo. Mike compiles the tales and crafts narratives for use on family history sites such as Ancestry.com and findagrave.com

Having studied journalism at Indiana University and practiced it for decades, Mike can tell your story or record the treasured memories of a loved one. He also can provide editing expertise to help you hone and finish your project.

A member of the American Marketing Association of Tampa Bay, Mike is certified in Content, Email and Inbound marketing as well as public relations brand building. He volunteered as a writer with AMA Tampa Bay, contributing to the local chapter's Special Merit In Communications” in the 2016-17 AMA National Chapter Excellence Awards Program.
